Our Story

The Flying SCOT is built on a love of authentic Scottish food and the belief that great traditions are worth sharing.

My Journey began several years ago when I joined a Scottish café in Christchurch. It was there that I learned traditional Scottish recipes and techniques, discovered the rich flavours of Scotland, and came to appreciate the wonderful community that gathered around great food.

As our journey evolved, so did our vision. We wanted to take our food beyond four walls and share it with even more people, so The Flying SCOT was born. We set out to create a mobile kitchen that could bring the taste of Scotland to markets, festivals, and events across Canterbury.

Today, we’re a family-run mobile kitchen bringing authentic Scottish street food to markets, festivals, and events across Canterbury. From our black pudding, our handmade lorne sausage, haggis, and tattie scones, to our homemade baking and a chilled can of Irn-Bru, everything we serve is made with pride, passion, and a genuine love of Scottish food.

Whether you’ve been with us from the café days or you’re discovering us for the first time, we’re delighted to have you along for the journey. We look forward to serving you and sharing a true taste of Scotland, one morning roll at a time.
